Email and branding

Email & branding is the wording and the logo on mail your parish sends. A Church Admin can change them. Clergy can read the templates. Saving a template changes the next email of that kind. It does not resend mail that already went out.

Upload a PNG, JPEG, or WebP. The image is the parish mark in emails that include {{LogoUrl}}. Remove it when you want those messages to have no parish image. A missing logo does not stop the email. The invitation and the new-visit message both expect a logo at the top, so upload one before the first invitations if the parish should be recognizable in the inbox.

Which template to edit

A System Admin can switch to system defaults. Those are the shared messages a parish uses until that parish saves its own copy. A parish save does not change the shared default, and a default save does not overwrite a parish that already has its own wording.

How to change one safely

  1. Choose the template in the list.
  2. Edit the display name, subject, and HTML body. Insert a variable from the list when you need a value filled in at send time, such as the invitation link.
  3. Choose Preview and read it as the recipient will. Sample values stand in for the real name and link.
  4. Choose Send test to mail a copy to an address you enter. Use this before a large round of invitations.
  5. Choose Save.

After the parish has its own copy, Reset to system default appears under the editor. Reset drops that copy. The next send uses the shared wording again. Until you have saved a parish copy, there is nothing to reset.
